Instruments
Plan for instruments in our music video:
We plan to use a microphone for the main female singer on the vocals, a single drum for one of the two male members of our band, and an electric guitar and amplifier for the other male member. Usefully my dad is in a band, so I will be providing all of the musical equipment needed for our video. I will post pictures on our blog of these instruments asap.
Researching and attaining a location to film.
Over the duration of the past 2 weeks, I have been emailing numerous photography studios, media colleges and art galleries/museums, in order to find a location to film our music video. Our aim is to film our video in a professional looking music video in a completely white room, that will be well lit and equipped with our own musical equipment (microphone, drum, guitar, amplifier), and of course our three band members. I have been sending emails using the following template:
"Dear _______,
Hello we are two year 13 media students at Lutterworth college, for part of our A2 coursework we are looking to make a performance music video in a white room or a room with a white background. We have researched the local area and your facilities would be ideal for a location to film. We realise you may get emails such as this often, and you have jobs to do, but we were wondering if it would be possible to film our music video at _______________________ in late September/early October. If this is not possible do you know of anywhere that would be suitable? Thank you in advanced for the time you've taken to read this email, we look forward to hearing from you soon.
Regards,
Alex Parr and Ryan Wills
Lutterworth College."
After a number of emails it appeared that we had reached a dead end. However the Guildhall and Newarke houses Museum have responded positively to my emails, and both now seem a probable possibility. Even though the decor of the main rooms in these locations is not what we are looking for, I am investigating whether they have rooms off the beat and track that would be suitable, I.e: plain white rooms. I have print screened a copy of the conversations between us, and these to possible locations. I will continue to pursue these opportunities and update the blog when I have finalised a location.

Influence Compilation
This compilation contains a fair amount of electronica, alongside some synth pop with a tiny sprinkle of baroque pop added for good measure. All the tracks included on this playlist have influenced PCoK (are fictitious band) in some way shape or form (some not as obvious as others).

analysing bands performance
We feel that to emulate a real band and ensure the little things (like what instruments are used in the songs, how they are used, when they are used) look right we have decided to watch through some live sets from the band who perform are chosen track 'Hear It In The Cans'. Although I personally have seen the band numerous times we both strongly feel that to pick up every tiny detail we need to watch them closely via online clips. Below are the live clips/sets we used to analyse the bands performance.
costume post (1) - matching costume
Below I have collected a few images of bands who came to my mind when thinking of the 'matching costume' idea. These bands where the same outfit if not the exact same colour when playing live shows. The list includes The Beachboys, Django Django, We Have Band, Everything Everything & The XX and personal favourite Who Made Who. We believe that this is a fun and quirky thing to add to our performance video as well as it making the choice of outfit easier. Although our three members will where the same things they will still be individually styled to match the personalities.

A Helpful Conversation With Director Blake Claridge.
Whilst analysing music videos I was set upon the idea to contact a director and get the helping hand I need in the form of questions answered, hints and tips. I decided to contact Blake Claridge. I chose Blake mainly due to the fact that he is british, I am a fan of his work and he has a huge range of projects under his belt. These include videos for bands such as The Ramona Flowers, A Band of Buriers, Alex Clare, The Subways and We Have Band to only name a few. He has also been commissioned to create pieces for large brands such as TalkTalk, Ocado and Selfridges. Although Blakes videos are simplistic finding out how he makes them look this way will help me out a lot.
I decided to email the man in question. I sent an email over the weekend asking if would be at all possible for me to drop him some questions which would help me with my project.
By the time I had checked my emails the next day a reply was already there. Blake has agreed to answer some questions and sounds interested with what I am aiming to do in the project.
I am going to write up an email including a number of questions which me and Alex need answering, and will also try are best to create a short paragraph of text which will explain are aims with the video.

Class Feedback
Overall comments on the pitch were very positive. It was made known that are minimalist theme and choice of genre where seen as very strong and has potential to work well. It was however mentioned that are choice of location is good however it may be difficult to ensure. It was also said that the quality of the video does depend on that location.

Chosen Track - ('Hear It The Cans' - We Have Band')
We made band
With our own hands
To expand
To touch the sand
Let me hear it in the cans
Sitting down here with an empty box
(Answers for everyone)
Plug goes in the hole
(Derailed onto a final path)
Still don't know if it's going to work
Guess everyone's got a goal
(Been in these shoes? We made these shoes)
Swimming away with an idea
(What makes the ball roll?)
Pin it down
(We really really don't know)
Pin that tail on the donkey
(We were thrown together)
Pin him down to the ground
We made band
With our own hands
To expand
To touch the sand
Let me hear it in the cans
Stop and let's think for a moment
(Answers for everyone)
Where do we go from here?
(Derailed onto a final path)
All this consternation
Might just turn to fear
(Been in these shoes? We made these shoes)
Chipping away at the routine
(What makes the ball roll?)
Take it down
(We really really don't know)
Need to get some focus
Need to make some sound
(We were thrown together)
We made band
With our own hands
To expand
To touch the sand
Let me hear it in the cans

Target Market - UK tribes
The target market for our band 'Presbyterian church of Korea' is stereotyped by UKtribes to be 'Creatives' and 'Indie scenesters'. The band will be aimed more specifically at the 'Creatives' segment but will appeal to indie scenesters, all the way to hipsters. This will mainly be due to the band being relatively unknown, which as you can imagine will appeal to music purists that fit in to these stereotyped groups. Our target market will enjoy listening to new and undiscovered music and may listen to the likes of our band to be pretentiously 'cool'. Despite this, our band, and their music will appeal to a wide age range within these groups, age 16-50. This is due to the indietronic style of music which is liked by a wide age range, an existing example of this kind of band are Hot Chip, who we both listen to and so do our dads. The interests of our target market may range from spending hours trolling through record stores, to living a creative lifestyle full of art, photography, music and fashion.
