Inspiration for Evaluation Question 1

In order to express my answer for evaluation question 1, I am going to imitate a letter that Coldplay and Co. sent to 'Mr.Trevor', who accused Shynola and Coldplay of copying his video off of youtube. This is a creative way to show how my media products use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products. Shynola produced Coldplay's Strawberry Swing video and were promptly sued by another artist for 'copying' their video. Shynola very kindly wrote a letter explaining why they hadn't.

RE-FILMING DATE

WE ARE RE-FILMING SOME OF OUR SHOTS ON TUESDAY THE 26TH NOVEMBER AT THE YELLOW BEAN STUDIOS AGAIN.

Feedback and Improvements for Final music video

Below are the comments and feedback made by Mr Smith, my teacher.

I have taken onboard this feedback and constructed a storyboard (excuse my horrendous drawing) which contains each shots that will be re-filmed in order to improve the grade of our music video when we complete the final version next friday.

I have taken on board the main comment of playing the instruments at the right time (Note that the irrelevant drumming clips were only used as fillers in the draft). I have matched up each instrument to each part in the song and have drawn and described each shot to match the song and to improve continuity. I will also be re-editing my half of the video in order to improve the slight framing issues. And finally the slight lighting issues can be corrected post-filming whilst we are editing by altering the brightness and saturation of the footage.

Feedback Analysis - Annotation and Checklist

Checklist;

*change drum to drum pad. (re-film shots)
*add microphone to emily shots
*film shots which can be used to break up dancing
*closeups re-filmed and positioned left/right of camera
*visual interest added to some shots
*sort 1:29 where george is not singing

Feedback (2) - Matt De Jong (Professional Creative Designer)

Matt Dejong is a professional creative designer who specialises in record sleeves, digipaks and album/tour posters for a huge range of large scale bands. These artists include 'The Maccabees', Jack Penate, The Vaccines, Tyler the Creator, SBTRKT, Kurt Vile, Ariel Pink, Purity Ring, St Vincent, Cat Power, Deerhunter, Vampire Weekend, Willis Earl Beal .... and many more.

He can be found over on http://godejong.tumblr.com.

I have decided to contact Matt in regard to feedback on my draft Digipak and Poster. As good as Mr Smith's feedback is, I feel a few pointers from a professional who's products I either own or admire is a lot more valid.

Matt currently lives in New York after moving from London this meant communication me be more difficulty in school hours. I have been following Matt on my personal twitter for a good few years now so I decided contacting him via that means of technology was best. He quickly replied to my request and gave me his email to speak further on the matter.
