Cover Research - Minimal

I believe the minimal style of cover art is very effective. I personally feel that a minimalist style is simple, clean and aesthetically pleasing. Many of my examples below show that sometimes less is more if the correct image/detailing is used. These examples date back to nearly 40 years previous to others.    I feel this minimalist style is not a new attempt at being (ingenious and clever) instead it shows this idea has been around for along time and can help create some iconic pieces of work. The examples below include work from bands such as The Kinks, Yeasayer, Deerhunter, Willis Earl Beal, Wild beasts, Tom Vek, EELS and many more.
